I have begun...
to make my big girl her 10th birthday quilt. A decade is a very big deal and I want to wrap her from head to toe in handmade love.
From this pile of unironed fat eigths to nearly 1200 of these tiny little triangles and still cutting... ( I am mad, I really am)
Tho this year her gift is not a secret. She helped me choose fabrics and even helped me sort the little triangles into rough colour piles today while I cut and cut and cut. I will dedicate two hours a day (while the wee girl sleeps) so by her birthday that should be 240 something, I've forgotten exactly, hours.
I can do it said the little train......

Wow, what a wonderful gift! My 'big' girl is ten too this year. I would like to make her something special, I love the idea of a quilt, but I've never made one, so probably not the best item to learn on!
Looks very interesting...can't wait to see the progression.

Oh my! What a beautiful treasure you are making for your daughter Shannon! You are amazing, I can't wait to see it when it is finished.

oh yes! Utterly mad :) in a nice way though. I haven't ventured into quilting because the idea of cutting out all those bits makes me quiver.
Lucky Big Girl! Maybe when the little Mrs is turning 10 I'll be braver.
Dear Mermaid and Melissa - this will be my third quilt, well second technically cause i kind of just repaired the second - just choose something with straight lines and give yourself loads of time -
Thank you Linda you are very kind.
Yes MM a lunatic for sure, but a nice one?
And to all you other kind souls I will post updates...they will be just the kick along I need to prove I am actually getting it done! and your interest will perhaps quicken the pace a bit more
