Wednesday Craftgroup - Needle felting

I am really starting to love needle felting ~ the repetitive stabbing is somewhat calming.

We were very lucky today to have Lucy guide us in our stabbing motions; that is her owl to the right, mine is that weird blob on the left (I am please to report that is it looking pretty good right about now and I am considering sending it on an owl post birthday run half way round the globe).

I was stuck on admiring that sweet ladybug on her leaf for some time, then I scrolled down and saw the inch worm and squealed. These creations are perfect! All of them, including the sweet little owl.

I've done some ladybugs myself, but I love the leaf beneath yours! And the inchworm! Very sweet. Yes, the repetition is very calming...until I jab myself!

What's with all this stabbing business happening around the crafty blogosphere today?! (though I can understand the appeal). Loving the ladybird...

I was in such a rush posting last night that I didn't give credit where it was due. Alas the ladybird, her leaf and the inchworm did not come from my stabbing efforts. lucy made the super cute worm and another of the craftgroup regulars made the ladybird. On the upside I have finished my owl - I think it looks fabulous. I want to send it as a gift; my big girl looked very shocked when I mentioned it to her this morning and said "I know you are generous but that is getting ridiculous!" I think she had visions of him perched in her room.

Love the lady bugs - I was making those as presents for my playgroup children on their birthdays - they were presented tucked into a felt leaf that was made with a pocket in it. I've pictures here http://www.lavendillyhouse.net/2009/07/lady-beetle-leaf-house.html
