Our little craft stall at this year's school fair made quite a bit of money; the school has just built a beautful, and quite empty new library. Sooooo would you please share with me you favourite children's books, craft books and classics. We have about $1000 to spend and the Australian dollar is all but 1:1 with the US so now is the time to buy!
Our Steiner school is prep to year 12 (ages 4 to 18), I would especially like to include some children's/young adult craft books in our donation.... looking forward to seeing your suggestions.
The big girl and I finished reading Seven Little Australians by Ethel Turner on Friday night; we both sobbed ourselves to sleep - a wonderful book but oh so tragic; the ending was quite unexpected really - at least to me. My poor girl kept putting her hands over the pages and asking me to stop reading because she just couldn't bear hearing anymore and then, wanting to hear more would ask "how much more?"
We are now reading a beautifully illustrated version of The Secret Garden by Frances Burnett - so far no tears (despite the cholera outbreak).
